Classic storage furniture in Danish design
At KLASSIK, you will find an ever-changing selection of original and pre-owned storage furniture from the 20th century. The collection includes sideboards, shelving units, cabinets, display cabinets, chests of drawers and modular shelving systems in Danish and Scandinavian design.
Since 1991, we have specialised in original pre-owned designer furniture from the period spanning approximately 1920 to 1980. Each piece is selected with a focus on authenticity, construction, materials, condition and significance in design history.
Vintage sideboards, shelving units and cabinets
Danish storage furniture is renowned for its fine craftsmanship, considered functionality and simple design, allowing the natural grain of the wood to take centre stage. The furniture may be crafted from materials such as oak, teak, rosewood and mahogany, with details including sliding doors, drawers, shelves and tambour doors.
Our selection may include vintage storage furniture designed by Børge Mogensen, Hans J. Wegner, Finn Juhl, Arne Vodder, Poul Cadovius, Kaare Klint and Mogens Koch.
Danish manufacturers and cabinetmakers
Many classic sideboards, cabinets and shelving units were made by renowned Danish manufacturers and cabinetmakers. These include Rud. Rasmussen, which produced a range of furniture by Kaare Klint and Mogens Koch, as well as Fredericia Furniture, which is closely associated with Børge Mogensen’s functional furniture design.
The selection may also include furniture from manufacturers such as Johannes Hansen, Fritz Hansen, Søborg Møbelfabrik and Ry Møbler.
Storage furniture with original patina
Some pre-owned storage furniture has been preserved in its original condition, with natural traces of age and use. Other pieces have been carefully restored in KLASSIK’s own cabinetmaking workshop, with respect for the original construction, finish and materials.
