Chairs

There is a reason why the dining room chair is the most designed piece of furniture: It is the most difficult and challenging piece of furniture to draw. Ergonomics, materiality, comfort and aesthetics are just some of the parameters that must be taken into account when working with the chair and its proportions. Meet some of the world's most celebrated of its kind here by Hans J. Wegner, Poul Kjærholm, Finn Juhl, Niels O. Møller, Kaare Klint, Ole Wanscher, Børge Mogensen and many more.

Original dining chairs and Danish designer chairs

At KLASSIK, you will find an ever-changing selection of original and pre-owned dining chairs from the 20th century. The collection includes individual vintage chairs and larger dining sets crafted from materials such as oak, teak, rosewood, leather, cane and paper cord.

Since 1991, we have specialised in original pre-owned designer furniture. Each chair is selected with a focus on authenticity, construction, materials, condition and significance in design history.

Danish designer chairs from the 20th century

The Danish chair plays a central role in the story of Danish Modern. Architects such as Hans J. Wegner, Børge Mogensen, Arne Jacobsen, Finn Juhl and Kaare Klint created chairs that united function, comfort and craftsmanship in a simple and distinctive design language.

Our selection may include vintage dining chairs made by renowned manufacturers and cabinetmakers such as Fritz Hansen, Carl Hansen & Søn, Fredericia, Johannes Hansen, Rud. Rasmussen and FDB Møbler. The collection changes continuously, and many chairs are available only as a single example or one complete set.

Pre-owned dining chairs with original patina

Some pre-owned designer chairs are preserved in their original condition, with natural patina and traces of a previous life. Others have been carefully restored in KLASSIK’s own workshops. The wooden frames may be treated by our cabinetmakers, while upholstery, leather, cane or paper cord may be renewed with respect for the chair’s original construction and expression.

Find the right chairs for your dining table

When choosing dining chairs, it is important to consider seat height, width, comfort and how the chairs work with the dining table. Armrests should fit beneath the tabletop, and there should be sufficient space between the chairs. The product description contains information about dimensions, designer, manufacturer, materials and condition.
